Job description
Job Overview
The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various building environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial structures. The role requires ensuring the safe and efficient function of wiring, fixtures, and electrical equipment at one or more locations owned and operated by Carnival Corporation globally.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install conduits, pipes, circuit breakers, panels, and other necessary electrical hardware following blueprints, technical diagrams, and site plans.
- Maintain compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards during all installations.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components to reduce downtime and prolong equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults using suitable diagnostic tools and testing equipment, executing timely repairs or replacements as needed.
- Provide electrical services across guest, employee, and public areas to support uninterrupted site operations.
- Support heating and air conditioning systems knowledge for broader site maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and HESS policies while assisting with additional duties and projects under the guidance of the Site Engineer.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in hospitality or a related field is advantageous.
- Single phase certification preferred.
- Thorough understanding of electrical theory, wiring, power generation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Experience with or knowledge of hand-powered tools.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and multitasking abilities.
- Commitment to following National Electrical Code and local regulations.
- Physically fit to work in outdoor environments and capable of standing for extended periods.
Additional Requirements
- Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude toward resolving issues.
- Ability to work shifts as required across different destinations.
