Overview
Begin your engineering career journey with Babcock Australasia, a respected global organisation operating in the Defence sector. This 12-week paid internship is specifically catered to students entering the penultimate year of their engineering studies, focusing on Electrical Engineering. The program offers hands-on experience, meaningful contributions to real-world projects, and mentorship from industry professionals at the Devonport Naval Base in Auckland, New Zealand.
Responsibilities
- Engage actively in ongoing engineering projects from the outset.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and team members in a dynamic Defence environment.
- Utilize various tools and technologies applicable to the engineering field within Defence.
- Participate in problem-solving activities and technical discussions to enhance practical skills.
- Develop both technical expertise and interpersonal capabilities in a fast-paced collaborative setup.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Be enrolled in the penultimate year of a University Degree or Masters in Electrical Engineering.
- Eligibility to obtain New Zealand Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Demonstrate excellent communication abilities.
- Show initiative and competence in managing and prioritizing workload effectively.
- Exhibit adaptability to work in a continually evolving and fast-moving team environment.
- Availability to begin the internship from 23rd November 2026 through 19th February 2027.
