Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Elective Bookings Officer to join the Surgery Waiting List Bookings Team based at Frimley Park Hospital, Archipelago Buildings. This role is vital to supporting patient pathways by efficiently coordinating and managing the scheduling and rescheduling of elective inpatient procedures. You will work closely with patients, clinical teams, and colleagues to ensure appointments are arranged smoothly and meet service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, managing internal and external telephone enquiries confidently.
- Coordinate the booking and rescheduling of elective inpatient procedures within a busy healthcare environment.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records, ensuring data collection aligns with local and national performance benchmarks.
- Work independently and as a collaborative team member to support departmental goals and patient care quality.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Passes in GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or similar qualification.
- At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital or busy office setting.
- Ability to manage challenging patient interactions effectively.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in NHS settings and call center operations.
- Knowledge of NHS targets and clinical or surgical procedures is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and precision in completing tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure and independently demonstrate initiative.
- Excellent customer service skills with experience meeting telephone and performance targets.
Additional Information
This is a permanent part-time role offering 22.5 hours per week. It provides an excellent opportunity to develop administrative and patient-facing skills in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; candidates must already have the right to work in the UK throughout the contract period.
