Overview
The role centers on developing and managing international educational initiatives such as study abroad, semester exchanges, language immersion programs, and other global engagement opportunities for midshipmen, faculty, and staff at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Key Duties
- Lead coordination and administration of international education programs tailored to U.S. Naval Academy participants.
- Liaise with faculty, advisors, military and civilian entities, and global partner institutions to support participant selection, comply with academic criteria, arrange travel logistics, and ensure security protocols.
- Organize international delegations, conferences, seminars, visits from distinguished guests, and other special projects aligned with the Academy's international mission.
- Generate comprehensive reports, briefing documents, program evaluations, data analyses, and provide informed recommendations to advance leadership decision-making and program enhancement.
- Manage budgets, coordinate administrative tasks including travel authorizations, passports and visa processing.
- Serve as primary contact with international partners and oversee program-related administrative issues and data-driven reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible for federal employment including passing the E-Verify process.
- Compliance with selective service registration if applicable and requirements concerning military retiree employment provisions.
- Obligation to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances prior to starting employment.
- Experience requirements differ between GS-07 and GS-09 levels, requiring specialized experience in coordinating travel, budget oversight, administrative problem-solving, and effective stakeholder communication at respective levels.
- Educational qualifications allow substitution of graduate degrees or legal degrees depending on the grade level applied for.
