Job description

Overview

The role involves providing secure transportation and daily caregiving assistance for clients participating in rehabilitation and day care programs located at Yishun and Canberra. Candidates must hold a Singapore Class 3 driving license and possess fundamental caregiving experience.

Main Duties

  • Transport clients safely between their residences and the center for their rehabilitation or day care activities.
  • Support clients with mobility and movement within the center and assist them during boarding and disembarking from vehicles.
  • Perform basic health monitoring such as checking temperatures and vital signs.
  • Guide and assist clients during their individualized and group exercise regimens.
  • Address clients’ basic requirements including toileting, meal preparation, and feeding as necessary.
  • Follow all infection control and safety protocols diligently.
  • Coordinate transport for other program-related needs when required.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Supervisors regarding administrative issues.
  • Provide regular updates on client progress to Supervisors.
  • Assist with documentation tasks including attendance recording and incident reports.

Vehicle and Facility Care

  • Maintain cleanliness and perform routine upkeep and servicing of the vehicle.
  • Keep the workplace clean and safe at all times.
  • Report any vehicle malfunctions or wear and tear to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Practice safe driving and care protocols continuously.
  • Comply with traffic and workplace safety guidelines consistently.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Help with general tasks at the center as directed by Supervisors.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, caregivers, and fellow staff.
  • Report incidents or injuries involving clients, colleagues, or self immediately to a Supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties assigned as necessary.

Qualifications and Expectations

  • Must hold a valid Class 3 Driving License.
  • Possess at least 1 year of patient care experience with minimum education of GCE 'O' or 'N' Levels.
  • Basic caregiving skills; certifications in healthcare support are advantageous.
  • Capable of basic emergency response procedures including bleeding control, dressing application, usage of slings and splints, and CPR-AED.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Willingness to participate in training and internal educational programs.
  • Availability for weekend and after-hours duties if necessary.
  • Physical capability to perform client handling tasks involving transfers, mobility assistance, stooping, bending, lifting, and grip strength.
