Description de l'emploi

About the role

Boots UK is looking for a Dispenser to join one of its store pharmacy teams in Leeds. In this store-based healthcare role, you will help the pharmacist and wider clinical team deliver pharmacy and healthcare services safely and efficiently.

You will spend your day in the store’s healthcare department developing positive relationships with patients, understanding their needs, greeting them, handling prescriptions, and supporting the safe sale of medicines. The role also involves giving practical guidance based on your healthcare knowledge so customers can make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

This position must be carried out in store within the UK. Remote applications will not be considered, and candidates outside the UK will only be progressed if they can provide relevant UK qualifications and proof of the right to work.

Pay

The hourly pay for this role is £13.92, rising to up to £16.64 in selected London locations.

What you will do

  • Prepare and dispense prescriptions while making sure medicines are supplied safely, including ordering stock, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Work alongside other healthcare professionals in the store to support the delivery and running of pharmacy services.
  • Offer patients clear advice about medicines and pass more complex questions to the pharmacist when needed.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure prescriptions are dispensed safely and legally.
  • Stay current with new in-store innovations and follow operational processes accurately.
  • Help patients manage repeat prescriptions in a way that supports adherence and reduces medicine waste.

You will also work with developing in-store technologies and systems that modernise dispensing processes, improve patient safety, and create more time to spend with patients.

Training and progression

Regular updates and training will be provided to help you strengthen your healthcare knowledge. Career development opportunities are available, including progression to Pharmacy Technician training or into the store leadership team.

Requirements

  • You must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2, or an equivalent qualification, or be working towards it and have finished the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • You must have current and valid UK right to work.
  • This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Preferred experience

  • Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting would be an advantage.

Benefits

  • Discretionary Christmas gift payment.
  • Staff discount.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave pay, plus a gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child.
  • Flexible benefits scheme.
  • Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health as part of the Employee Assistance Programme.
