Role Overview
As Director of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, you will lead the transformation of Thermo Systems' procurement function from a project-driven activity to an enterprise-wide strategic capability. You'll design and enforce supplier strategies, enhance procurement processes, and collaborate across departments including Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Legal to optimize cost, supplier quality, and material availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead governance, supplier engagement, and visibility frameworks for the procurement function.
- Develop tiered supplier strategies emphasizing cost efficiency, lead times, and service quality.
- Negotiate contracts to secure improved pricing, terms, and supplier commitments.
- Drive cost reduction opportunities, supplier consolidation, and commercial leverage.
- Support Commercial and Technical Sales teams with budget and supplier quotes during proposal stages.
- Centralize project procurement activities ensuring alignment with budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate sourcing of subcontractors and contract labor for project support.
- Implement strategies for supplier inventory management, local supply chain optimization at Dallas and New Jersey hubs, and enhance material readiness through collaboration with S&OP and Operations.
- Manage enterprise indirect spend including IT, facilities, logistics, and leasing with clear standards and processes.
- Lead change management for procurement centralization and build strong supplier and internal partnerships.
- Develop procurement team capabilities to support category leadership and enterprise spend management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, finance, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
- Over 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management.
- Proven success in building procurement processes and supplier strategies within growth-oriented and project-based environments such as engineering, construction, or systems integration.
- Prior experience in supplier negotiation, managing RFQ procedures, and achieving cost savings or avoidance.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities or aptitude for guiding cross-functional teams.

Additional Information
Location: Remote within the United States.
Travel: Up to 25% travel expected.
