Overview
This is an exciting leadership opening with a fast-growing medical device business that is building advanced technologies designed to make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes. The role carries end-to-end accountability for product design and development, with a strong focus on guiding cross-functional engineering groups through the complete product lifecycle while upholding rigorous standards for quality, safety, and product effectiveness.
As a senior strategic leader, you will help shape the organisation’s direction, influence the culture, contribute to the technology roadmap, and support long-term commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Executive Leadership Team to define and deliver core strategic business priorities.
- Mentor, lead, and grow high-performing research and development teams spanning several engineering specialisms.
- Oversee the conception, engineering, and release of innovative medical device products and systems.
- Strengthen organisational capability by ensuring the right people, tools, and resources are available to meet business targets.
- Coordinate closely with Quality, Clinical, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to enable product assessment and clinical research activity.
- Take ownership of R&D planning, budgeting, and allocation of resources so they align with business goals.
- Promote an environment built on innovation, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
- Maintain compliance with quality management systems and contribute to company quality objectives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
- Postgraduate study in a relevant technical area is also required.
- At least 8 years of experience in a senior management position within medical device product development.
- At least 8 years of experience working with intellectual property development.
