Role Overview
The Director of Procurement will serve as a strategic and hands-on leader accountable for formulating and executing global sourcing and procurement strategies across designated spend categories such as raw materials (PVC, plasticizer, limestone), MRO, indirect spend, and others. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Procurement & Logistics, the role entails leading procurement teams and collaborating across functions to secure sustainable cost savings, enhance supplier performance, manage supply risks, and support organizational financial and operational goals. Approximately 20% travel is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive global sourcing and category strategies to maximize scale advantages, strengthen supplier relationships, reduce risks, and generate continuous value.
- Monitor global market trends, supply challenges, and technology developments to identify opportunities and forecast challenges.
- Conduct market benchmarking and competitive analysis to uphold superior procurement practices and supplier management.
- Align procurement plans with company operational, financial, and customer objectives through partnership with business leaders.
- Lead major sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, contract handling, and cost-reduction efforts directly.
- Identify and prioritize savings initiatives balancing cost, quality, service, and supply reliability.
- Create robust forecasting, spend analysis, and reporting infrastructures to facilitate budgeting and strategic decisions.
- Track procurement savings and ensure accurate reflection in business plans and budgets.
- Drive continuous process improvements enhancing efficiency, controls, and procurement performance.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Lead supplier development programs focusing on Lean methodologies, performance management, innovation, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure supplier compliance with quality, delivery, service, sustainability, and cost competitiveness benchmarks.
- Manage and mentor a global procurement team encouraging ownership, accountability, teamwork, and skill enhancement.
- Provide clear objectives, monitor results, offer coaching, and create development pathways for team growth.
- Ensure procurement governance in line with corporate policies, ethical standards, and regulations.
- Manage contract authority within delegated limits and contribute to risk management and business continuity plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline; MBA preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management involving large-spend categories and diverse supplier bases.
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience managing global procurement teams and cross-functional sourcing strategies.
- Proven track record in cost savings, supplier performance improvement, and risk control, particularly involving raw materials, MRO, and indirect categories.
- Strong experience leading complex sourcing and negotiation initiatives, contract oversight, and supplier development programs.
- Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and continuous improvement expertise.
- Successful completion of background check, employment verification, and drug screening required.
- Positive and verifiable employment history.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CSCP, APICS, Lean, or Six Sigma with demonstrated leadership in improvement projects.
- Proven leadership in global procurement operations.
- Experience using ERP systems like SAP, M3, or equivalents.

- Ability to communicate, listen, comprehend, and write proficiently in English.
- Strong decision-making skills, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment with urgency and attention to detail.
