Director of Learning and Development

What this role will do

As the Director of Learning & Development, you will guide the National Learning team and oversee the creation, rollout, and improvement of modern learning solutions. You will work closely with senior leaders, HR partners, and cross-functional stakeholders across National and Division teams to ensure learning priorities are aligned with enterprise needs and business strategy.

Enterprise learning leadership

• Set the company-wide learning and development direction so it supports organizational goals and priorities.
• Coach, lead, and build a high-performing National Learning team.
• Develop a forward-looking roadmap for capability building that supports transformation and growth.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on learning, talent development, and capability planning.

Business partnership and analysis

• Work with executive and senior leaders to identify skill gaps and performance requirements.
• Convert business strategy into learning solutions that scale and produce measurable results.
• Keep learning priorities aligned with enterprise initiatives, workforce planning, and broader talent strategies.

Learning design and delivery

• Oversee the development of engaging learning solutions across eLearning, instructor-led, blended, experiential, and digital formats.
• Ensure instructional design standards and enterprise learning guidelines are consistently applied.
• Advance learning tools, methods, and technologies to improve the overall learner experience.
• Support rollout and adoption of learning programs across the enterprise.
• Partner with HR and business teams to integrate learning into day-to-day workflows and operations.
• Maintain consistency and quality in facilitation and delivery across channels.

Measurement, portfolio management, and culture

• Create methods to assess learning effectiveness and return on investment.
• Use data, analytics, and insight to improve programs and show business impact.
• Ensure learning efforts contribute to performance, engagement, retention, and internal mobility.
• Manage a portfolio of enterprise learning initiatives with strong prioritization and execution.
• Collaborate across HR, operations, and business teams to keep work aligned and on track.
• Support on-time, in-scope, high-quality delivery of projects.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, career growth, and development across the organization.
• Help expand career pathways and advancement opportunities for associates.
• Contribute to enterprise leadership development and capability-building efforts.

Experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in learning and development, strong leadership capability, and a proven ability to connect learning investments to business outcomes. Experience in retail, grocery, or other large multi-location organizations is preferred.

Compensation and benefits

This role includes weekly pay and a range of associate benefits, including access to up to 50% of earned wages before payday through Stream.
