Overview
Metric Bio is working with a highly specialized pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that supports biotech and pharmaceutical companies with advanced formulation development, oral solid dosage development, and manufacturing services. The organization is hiring a Business Development Director to generate new revenue and expand relationships across small, mid-sized, and large life sciences clients.
What You’ll Do
- Create new business opportunities across formulation development, oral solid dosage programs, and drug product manufacturing offerings.
- Prospect, engage, and convert biotech and pharmaceutical companies into new clients.
- Design and implement sales strategies that build a healthy pipeline and grow commercial opportunities.
- Use an established network within the life sciences sector to open conversations and drive wins.
- Manage the sales process end to end, from first contact through commercial negotiation and deal closure.
- Work closely with technical, project management, and leadership teams to ensure client requirements match service capabilities.
- Stay visible in the market and keep up with evolving industry trends and customer needs.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 7 years of experience in business development or strategic sales in the pharmaceutical CDMO space.
- Strong knowledge of formulation development, oral solid dosage, and drug product manufacturing services.
- A demonstrated history of creating new business and closing sophisticated deals.
- Experience selling to both emerging biotech companies and large pharmaceutical organizations.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and negotiation abilities.
- The ability to activate an existing life sciences network to generate new opportunities.

This role is based in the United States and is a full-time, onsite position.
