About the Role
The City of Boroondara seeks a Digital Marketing Officer to enliven its programs, services, and narratives by creating compelling social media posts and engaging email newsletters. Utilizing your creativity, multimedia expertise, and communication proficiency, you will play a pivotal role in informing, engaging, and supporting the local community.
This position is part of the Strategic Communications department and collaborates with various internal departments to execute effective digital campaigns, produce targeted multimedia content, and leverage performance metrics to enhance the Council's digital engagement continuously. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Lead, you will contribute to fostering strong community connections through timely, inclusive, and captivating digital content.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop platform-specific content, including videos, photographs, and written materials for both social media and email newsletters.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement digital marketing campaigns shaped by customer insights, market research, and industry best practices.
- Create, refine, and publish accessible digital content that promotes a positive user experience.
- Maintain content publishing calendars to ensure the Council's digital presence is consistent, relevant, and responsive to community needs.
- Oversee and moderate community interactions across digital channels according to Council policies and procedures.
- Utilize analytics tools to evaluate campaign performance, spot emerging trends, and suggest enhancements.
- Manage both paid and organic digital marketing initiatives, including campaign setup, audience targeting, budget tracking, and optimization.
- Offer consultative advice, training, and support to foster continual digital communication improvements across the Council.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully growing and engaging audiences on social media with a deep understanding of platform-specific content strategies, creative trends, and user behavior. You should be skilled in producing multimedia content tailored to social media and email newsletter audiences, reflecting the visual and stylistic preferences of each platform.
Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments to develop marketing strategies and execute digital campaigns is essential. You should be an effective communicator with strong writing abilities and capable of building productive relationships within the organization. Proficiency in analyzing digital data to generate insights and adeptness in moderating online communities to ensure excellent customer outcomes is required.
A tertiary qualification in marketing, media, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is expected.
Employment Details
- Employment type: Temporary, onsite work arrangement.
- Salary range: $107,790 to $114,015 per annum, including superannuation and rostered days off.
- Right to work in Australia is mandatory.
- Preferred candidates must undergo a National Police Record Check.
