About the organisation
RIBA is an international professional membership organisation and cultural body dedicated to advancing excellence in architecture.
About the role
This fixed-term position (12 months) is for a highly organised marketing professional with strong digital skills. You will be responsible for running important online channels and helping deliver effective, insight-led marketing across the organisation.
The role is very hands-on and places a strong focus on email marketing, digital content, and campaign execution. You will support high-visibility communications, contribute to marketing campaigns, and keep core marketing processes running smoothly. You will also be a main contact for marketing systems and tools, supporting colleagues in getting the best from digital channels.
This is a strong opportunity for a confident, self-starting marketer who works well independently and wants to contribute meaningfully in a mission-driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and send email marketing communications such as newsletters and segmented campaigns.
- Maintain and organise the email campaign calendar, making sure activity stays consistent and performs well.
- Prepare and update website content, including homepage planning.
- Support the rollout of integrated digital campaigns across several channels.
- Serve as a key contact for email marketing systems, assisting colleagues and encouraging good practice.
- Track campaign results, interpret performance data, and suggest improvements.
- Create high-quality digital content and marketing materials.
- Provide everyday operational assistance to the Marketing team.
Required experience and skills
- Background in delivering digital marketing activity, including email, content, and social media campaigns.
- Proven ability to manage email marketing programmes from planning through to reporting and optimisation.
- Strong planning and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle competing priorities.
- Experience with marketing tools such as email platforms, Hootsuite or similar social media management tools, CRM systems, and Google Analytics.
- Clear and effective communication skills for working with a wide range of stakeholders.
Desirable experience
- Previous experience in a membership-based organisation or a B2B setting.
- Understanding of SEO and how to optimise digital content.
- Experience managing website content and planning homepage updates.
Benefits
- Employer pension contributions of up to 12%.
- Life assurance cover.
- 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Paid closure for 3 discretionary days between Christmas and New Year.
Application notes
A covering letter is mandatory; applications submitted without one will not be considered. Applications must be made directly through the organisation's own website.
Shortlisting will be based on the essential criteria, so applicants should clearly show how they meet the person specification.
Applicants should submit a CV and covering letter. A separate Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form must also be completed.
Closing date: 12 July 2026. Interview date: to be confirmed.
Because of the volume of applications, individual replies may not be sent to everyone. If shortlisted, the organisation will get in touch. The advert may be closed earlier if enough strong applications are received.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.
The organisation is committed to inclusion, diversity, and flexible working, and encourages applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
