Role and Responsibilities
- Lead engineering development for closure systems and components across multiple vehicle programs.
- Ensure alignment of closure components' development with objectives concerning quality, cost, weight, timing, and performance.
- Collaborate with diverse cross-functional and global teams to facilitate engineering efforts.
- Maintain compliance with homologation, regulatory, and internal engineering standards.
- Support activities including design release, engineering documentation, validation planning, and technical approvals.
- Implement robust, cost-efficient engineering solutions to guarantee successful program deployment.
- Promote standardization, benchmarking, knowledge sharing, harmonization, and best practices.
- Assist supplier development through technical reviews, capability evaluations, and problem resolution.
- Coordinate with design studios and vehicle integration teams to achieve milestones and assess packaging feasibility.
- Lead root cause investigations and contribute to corrective action plans during development and production stages.
- Contribute to product diversity definitions and value optimization initiatives.
- Develop and upkeep source packages, technical documents, and engineering outputs.
- Support the creation of technical roadmaps, training resources, and engineering policy frameworks.
- Adhere to internal control systems, engineering processes, and product lifecycle management (PLM) workflows.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Production Engineering, or related fields.
- Extensive experience in automotive closure systems development, particularly with side doors, hoods, fenders, liftgates/tailgates, door hardware, sealing systems, door modules, and manual tops.
- Proven expertise in concept design and feasibility studies for closure components.
- Experience in conducting technical supplier reviews for glass systems, window regulators, door modules, tops, and sealing systems.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with design studios and vehicle integration groups.
- Familiarity with engineering release procedures in production settings.
- Proficiency in UG NX and/or CATIA CAD software.
- Experience working with Teamcenter or other PLM systems.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
