Job Overview
The Development Control Officer position is responsible for delivering effective land use compliance and regulation services, aimed at safeguarding and improving both natural and constructed environments. This role emphasizes high-quality customer service and aims to add value to the community.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Town Planning, Building Surveying, Investigations, or a related discipline, OR exhibit substantial contemporary experience in a similar capacity alongside continuous professional development.
- Proven expertise in interpreting planning and Local Government legislations.
- Experience and familiarity with Environmental Planning and Assessment legislation.
- Capability to draft formal reports and correspondence pertaining to planning and building laws.
- Track record of preparing court evidence and representing the Council or other Authorities in legal proceedings.
- Advanced skills in complaint investigation.
- Ability to meet project timelines and complete deliverables as scheduled.
Employment Details
- This is a temporary, full-time role.
- Salary starts up to $100,549 per year, with potential progression up to $116,501, subject to skills and performance evaluations.
- Includes a 12% superannuation contribution.
- Benefits include a 9-day fortnight work schedule and options for hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
- Position is based at Wyong Administration Building, Central Coast, NSW, Australia.
- A leaseback vehicle is provided for official and personal use. In absence of an available vehicle as per Council's Vehicle Policy, either a pre-used vehicle or a weekly allowance of $207.31 is offered.
