About The Role

The Design Engineer will be part of the global design engineering team, focusing on product design for the Middle East market. The role is integral to facilitating Tate's expansion and maintaining sector leadership by contributing to growth initiatives and enhancing manufacturing capabilities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to Tate's global engineering strategy, ensuring product designs meet market demands and address challenges specific to cloud-based infrastructure environments.
• Offer engineering and design expertise to foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence within the global team.
• Work closely with customers to understand their design needs and collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, technical, project management, engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate designs from conception through to full-scale production.
• Incorporate innovative technologies and sustainable engineering principles into product solutions.
• Create comprehensive conceptual designs and visual representations that align with Tate's quality standards throughout development stages.
• Leverage advanced engineering tools and methods to develop compelling presentations and prototypes.
• Support establishing and maintaining standardized engineering practices across regions, ensuring alignment with Tate's brand identity and messaging.
• Build and nurture collaborative relationships with key clients to co-develop evolving design solutions.
• Deliver ongoing performance updates, highlight milestones, and identify any risks to the Design Lead for the Middle East.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of four years’ experience in design or engineering roles, preferably within regional contexts involving critical sectors like data centres, construction, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor, power generation, or oil and gas industries.

Skills & Competencies

• Detail-oriented with strong planning skills and a history of spearheading design innovation.
• Proficiency in design software and 3D CAD tools such as Onshape (preferred), SolidWorks, Inventor, and Creo.
• Experience in designing integrated modular or skid systems is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, quality control, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
• Track record in developing new products from concept through prototype to production.
• Familiarity with design considerations related to cloud-based environments is advantageous.
• Excellent command of English for global communication.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
