About the Role
As the Deputy Director for Workplace Experience at A*STAR, you will play a central role in reshaping how the organisation's staff work. This position collaborates closely with Business Units and research institutes to convert organisational workplace strategies into practical designs, programmes, and operating models that span multiple locations. Guided by the Director's strategic vision, you will oversee the implementation, enhancement, and adoption of workplace environments aimed at fostering collaboration, boosting productivity, and elevating employee experience, while ensuring efficient space usage and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation and execution of workplace user experience strategies that align with the organisation’s key priorities.
- Convert business and workforce requirements into actionable workplace concepts, programs, and improvements.
- Assist in the medium-to-long term planning for workplace environments across A*STAR campuses.
- Forge strong partnerships with business and operational units to ensure workplace priorities are recognized and properly resourced.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to co-create workplace initiatives and experience enhancements.
- Coordinate with operational units to align workplace design, services, and infrastructure.
- Design and deploy workplace experience projects that improve productivity, collaboration, employee engagement, and wellbeing.
- Promote the adoption of new or renewed workplace environments through targeted communication and engagement efforts.
- Ensure that workplace settings embody the organisational culture and adapt to evolving work patterns.
- Define and manage metrics relating to workplace experience such as space utilisation, satisfaction levels, and adoption rates to guide informed decisions.
- Develop both qualitative and quantitative feedback systems to detect gaps and identify areas for enhancement.
- Translate collected data and insights into practical recommendations, working collaboratively across Infrastructure to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Business, Organisational Development, Real Estate, Design, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
- 10 to 13 years of relevant experience in workplace strategy, workplace user experience design, business partnership, change management, or related areas, particularly in complex enterprises, hospitality, or event management sectors.
- Demonstrated skill in converting strategic organisational priorities into actionable, people-focused initiatives.
- Strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement and influence across various organisational levels.
- Analytical proficiency with hands-on experience using data and feedback to foster continuous improvements.
- Exceptional communication skills capable of crafting clear messages and engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Leadership experience with a track record of building and guiding teams.
- Capacity to perform effectively under pressure, adapt rapidly in a fast-paced setting, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with workplace technology, Artificial Intelligence, and platform tools is advantageous.
