Job Overview
Advance Auto Parts is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver to efficiently deliver auto parts to professional customers, assist with returns, and promote sales flyers while maintaining store cleanliness and managing inventory. This role involves building customer relationships and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, stage, and safely deliver automotive parts to professional clients.
- Collect returns and cores during deliveries.
- Distribute sales flyers regularly and promote ongoing sales and loyalty programs.
- Manage daily collection of credit accounts from customers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both local and national pro customers, providing valuable delivery insights to the CPP team.
- Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to boost average sales transaction values.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the store environment including floors, restrooms, shelving, dusting, and parking areas.
- Perform general stocking activities such as loading the delivery truck, back stock management, and inventory cycle counts.
- Stay knowledgeable of current product inventory and new arrivals to facilitate sales.
- Engage walk-in customers by identifying their needs and recommending the right parts or services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficient in safe driving and navigation.
- Experience using delivery board systems and inventory equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, and instructions with basic math skills for accurate calculations.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and persuasive communication style.
- Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products.
- Ability to work varied schedules including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred prior experience in automotive parts is advantageous.
- Ability to lift and move frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with help.
- Physical capability for standing, walking, reaching, crouching, climbing, and handling manual tasks consistently.
- English language proficiency required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The position primarily requires standing or walking with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Job duties may include installing batteries and wiper blades outdoors and exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, electrical risks, and noise. Vision requirements include close vision and depth perception to perform necessary tasks safely.
