Deburring and Marking Technician

Job Overview

We are looking for a proficient Deburring and Marking Technician to carry out deburring, surface finishing, and part marking tasks on fabricated and machined parts. The selected applicant will guarantee that components adhere to quality specifications by eliminating burrs, sharp edges, and surface flaws, as well as precisely marking parts according to engineering blueprints, standards, and client demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize hand and power tools to perform deburring, edge rounding, and surface finishing on fabricated and machined components.
• Eliminate burrs, sharp edges, surplus material, and surface defects while maintaining dimensional integrity.
• Apply approved marking techniques such as stamping, engraving, vibro-etching, or laser marking following engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Interpret engineering designs, instructions, and marking criteria accurately.
• Conduct inspections of completed components to ensure they meet quality and customer standards.

Qualifications

• High school certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Additional technical or vocational training in mechanical or manufacturing fields is beneficial.

Experience

• Between two and five years of relevant experience in deburring and marking machined or fabricated parts within manufacturing, fabrication, oil & gas, or heavy engineering sectors.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient use of deburring tools, grinders, files, rotary instruments, and polishing machines.
• Understanding of various part marking methods including stamping, engraving, vibro-etching, and laser marking.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and manufacturing details.
• Experience with precise measuring devices such as vernier calipers and micrometers.
• High attention to detail with a strong dedication to quality control.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices and maintenance of cleanliness.
