Role Summary

This senior advisory position sits within the Data Office and supports clients in pharma, biotech, and medtech who are aiming to turn data and AI into a genuine business advantage. The consultant will help define high-level thinking around data, AI, and technology, then convert that thinking into actionable strategies that senior leaders can implement. The role combines strategic advisory work with hands-on client interaction, from initial workshops through final recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and explain data, AI, and technology strategies that are closely tied to client business goals.
• Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and executive-level discussions from preparation through follow-up.
• Develop business cases for data and AI investment decisions, with measurable value clearly articulated.
• Design governance approaches for data and AI that are workable in practice, not just theoretical.
• Advise clients on technology and platform choices while staying out of the direct build ownership.
• Convert technical subjects into clear, decision-ready insights using strong storytelling and visuals.
• Maintain and navigate relationships with senior stakeholders while aligning different functional priorities.
• Coach client teams and internal colleagues on structured problem solving and strategic communication.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate can turn uncertainty into a structured point of view, manage senior rooms confidently, and guide workshops toward decisions. They should be able to construct robust business cases that hold up to challenge from finance and technology leaders, create polished executive presentations, and speak credibly with architects and AI specialists without being responsible for implementation. The role also requires the ability to balance strong client relationship management with constructive pushback when needed.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in business, engineering, data science, or a related discipline; an MBA is an advantage.
• Between 6 and 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in MBB, a leading boutique consultancy, or a Big 4 strategy practice.
• Experience leading client workshops and delivering work independently end to end.
• Solid understanding of data strategy, AI strategy, or technology strategy, ideally with governance exposure.
• Background in life sciences or another regulated industry is helpful but not mandatory.
• Fluency in both German and English, either native-level or professional fluent.
