Role Summary

We are seeking a Data Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) focused on quantitative trading strategies. This position involves applying advanced natural language understanding techniques such as sentiment analysis, intent recognition, and named-entity extraction on diverse text streams including financial news and social media to develop and enhance algorithmic trading approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and research quantitative trading algorithms utilizing NLP methods including sentiment, intent, and entity recognition applied to financial news, social media, and related textual sources.
• Construct and implement machine learning models in Python to discover predictive trading signals and conduct exploratory data analyses on voluminous, intricate datasets.
• Employ mathematical methodologies including probability, statistics, and time-series analysis to refine and augment trading models.
• Conduct thorough backtesting of trading strategies against historical datasets, optimizing model effectiveness while controlling risk exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in data science, machine learning, or natural language processing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge in probability, statistics, linear algebra, and time-series analysis, with familiarity in ML tools such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Deep understanding of natural language understanding techniques such as sentiment analysis, intent recognition, and named-entity recognition.
• Proficiency in Python or R programming languages along with practical experience using NLP libraries like SpaCy, NLTK, or Transformers.
