Description de l'emploi

Role overview

The Data Entry Clerk for Youth Employment Programs supports the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) by keeping participant records accurate, helping with orientation, and managing timesheet processing and debit card distribution. This role also helps coordinate communication with worksites and assists the program team with day-to-day tasks as needed.

Key duties

  • Help conduct participant orientation sessions.
  • Collect, organize, and total participant timesheets every week.
  • Enter each SYEP participant’s hours into the Department of Youth and Community Development timesheet system by the required deadline.
  • Make sure completed and signed timesheets are delivered to the main site on time so data entry and recordkeeping are not disrupted.
  • Prepare and submit back pay requests for SYEP participants with Program Director approval.
  • Keep entered timesheets well organized and properly filed.
  • Prepare participant debit cards and distribute them as needed.
  • Call and email worksite sponsors to let them know when participant debit cards are ready.
  • Support other SYEP staff with assigned work when additional help is needed.
  • Take on other program-related tasks assigned by the Program Director.

Competencies and qualifications

This position favors applicants with relevant experience or transferable skills. Strong attention to detail, solid organization, the ability to prioritize, and comfort working to deadlines are important. The role also calls for someone who can juggle several tasks at once, take initiative, and work independently. Microsoft Office skills are a plus.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. College experience is preferred.
