Role Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst, you will support both internal and external data analysis, information requests, and institutional metric reporting through proficient data handling and database management. You will address moderately to highly complex data requests and proactively suggest additional useful data to enhance analyses. Responsibilities include guiding new users on reporting systems, consulting with experienced users on data interpretation and system improvements, and overseeing tasks such as implementation, testing, auditing, and troubleshooting related to new reporting software releases.
Additionally, you will design, construct, and manage scalable analytics and artificial intelligence pipelines that utilize structured and unstructured datasets. Using programming languages and tools such as Python, SQL, and R, alongside techniques including machine learning and natural language processing, you will create automated, actionable insights. Collaboration with AI/ML experts, engineering teams, and business units will be key to deploying, monitoring, and integrating models within enterprise reporting and operational workflows to support decision-making.
Interview Process
Applicants may engage in a flexible, pre-recorded OnDemand interview where questions will be presented with time to prepare responses. Multiple attempts to record answers are permitted, with final submissions reviewed by Mayo Clinic, who will communicate subsequent steps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum of four years’ experience in database management and data reporting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational capabilities.
- Preferred experience with Mayo Clinic data analysis systems and familiarity with scorecards, dashboards, medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT coding.
- Proficient with personal computer applications including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of Mayo databases is advantageous.
Compensation and Work Schedule
The salary range for this exempt position is from $61,755 to $92,664 annually. The full-time schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility and occasional weekend work as needed. This position requires locality within 100 miles of the Rochester, Minnesota, Mayo Clinic campus and is hybrid in nature.
