Data Analyst - Ontario & Atlantic Tax

Join KPMG Canada as a Data Analyst supporting the Ontario and Atlantic Tax region. This role involves collaboration with the Tax Regional Financial Analyst to deliver crucial financial insights and support for strategic decisions across monthly reporting cycles. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports with the Regional Financial Analyst.
• Develop ad hoc reports and analyses using Excel, PowerBI, and SmartView Query tools.
• Create Macros/VBA scripts occasionally to automate reporting tasks.
• Collaborate in compiling and finalizing the annual budget.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic financial decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant education and experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerBI, with experience in SmartView considered advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks in dynamic and deadline-driven settings.
• Self-driven and highly motivated with a capacity for independent work and continuous learning.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Collaborative team player.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Preferred familiarity with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) or Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Business Objects for SAP/Hana.

Compensation and Benefits
