Role Overview
As a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst within OCBC's cybersecurity team, your primary responsibility is to identify, evaluate, and communicate cyber threats that may affect the organisation. This involves continuous monitoring of cyber threat environments, gathering intelligence from various internal and external sources, and converting raw data into actionable insights to support security operations and strategic decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously observe the cyber threat landscape specific to the financial sector.
- Detect and evaluate upcoming threats targeting banking infrastructure, customer platforms, and partnerships.
- Conduct detailed threat analysis using established frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, the Kill Chain, and the Diamond Model.
- Determine the applicability, exploit potential, and business risks posed by threats to the bank.
- Develop and distribute intelligence products including advisories, alerts, and leadership summaries.
- Convey technical threat intelligence in accessible terms to diverse audiences including technical teams and business leaders.
- Assist in threat hunting activities by crafting hypotheses based on threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
- Work closely with SOC, Digital Forensics and Incident Response, and threat hunting teams to integrate intelligence into detection processes.
- Offer intelligence support during cybersecurity incidents by analyzing threat actors and mapping their methods.
- Track data leakage, ransomware campaigns, and malicious actor communications that target the organisation.
- Perform cyber risk assessments related to third-party vendors and oversee monitoring for vendor-associated security breaches.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Between 2 to 5 years' professional experience in cyber threat intelligence or a related cybersecurity function.
- Experience in financial institutions or environments with regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of network, endpoint, and cloud security technologies and principles.
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms.
- Experience using threat intelligence platforms is advantageous.
- Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and common adversarial behaviors.
- Strong skills in analyzing and correlating multiple intelligence sources to produce meaningful insights.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing intelligence reports and advisories.
- Relevant professional certifications such as GCTI, GCIA, GCFA, GEIR, or CISSP are valued.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a high-paced environment.
