Programme Overview
The Cyber Graduate Programme at Westpac New Zealand offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to develop and accelerate their careers in the field of cyber security. This permanent position based in Auckland commences in February 2027 and spans approximately 10 to 12 months. It starts with an immersive orientation designed to introduce you to Westpac NZ and unite you with the broader graduate cohort.
Programme Experience
Throughout this programme, you will receive guidance and mentorship from Cyber Champions and leaders, helping you to identify areas of interest. Tailored training sessions will enhance both your technical capabilities and soft skills, promoting your professional growth. Participation in community initiatives, volunteering, and sustainability projects is encouraged to enrich your workplace experience.
Daily Responsibilities
- Rotate through critical cyber teams, gaining hands-on experience in Privileged Access Management, Detect and Respond, Assurance and Measurement, and Advisory functions.
- Assist cyber operations by supporting monitoring, incident response, and access management efforts.
- Contribute to risk and compliance processes, including audit activities, access reviews, and control testing.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to offer cyber awareness, advisory services, and policy updates.
- Analyse cyber-related metrics and generate reports that support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should be final year students or recent graduates (within the last 12 months) holding an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Candidates must be New Zealand or Australian citizens or permanent residents. This entry-level role is designed to provide broad exposure within the business unit.
Ideal applicants possess a background in Computer Science with a focus on Cyber Security and have demonstrated relevant experience during their studies.
