Role Overview

As a Cyber Defense Analyst joining UltraViolet Cyber's services team at a major client location, you will focus on analyzing, investigating, containing, and responding to cyber threats. Your detailed analytical skills and critical thinking will be essential to mitigate harm, safeguard sensitive information, and maintain operational continuity.

Work Schedule and Location

• Hybrid onsite requirement at 50% time.
• Work schedule comprises four ten-hour shifts weekly, either Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday.
• Shift hours run from 8 AM to 6 PM Mountain Time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform investigations to detect signs of security breaches or compromises.
• Collaborate with the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) on containment and mitigation efforts.
• Maintain careful documentation of case investigations to support decision-making.
• Engage in rotation across various CSIRT functions, including incident response, threat hunting, and detection method development.
• Review cases to identify improvements in investigative processes and documentation quality.
• Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats and attack methodologies.
• Work actively with a global 24/7 cyber defense team, including some weekend shifts.
• Contribute to developing and updating investigative process guidelines to enhance consistency and efficiency.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proven experience conducting cybersecurity investigations or in related operational roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities capable of critical thinking under pressure.
• Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and diverse security tools and data sources used in investigations.
• Fundamental understanding of security principles and privacy requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Demonstrated team collaboration skills, fostering productive working relationships.
• Effective written and oral communication proficiency.
• Requirement to be a US Person: either a citizen or permanent resident as defined by US government standards.
