Role Overview
This position is responsible for end-to-end project and program management for assigned customer-facing implementations as well as internal projects. The role requires coordination across customers, field partners, vendors, offshore teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
You will own the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects, with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer outcomes.
- Analyze project scope, create implementation plans, and manage resources effectively.
- Coordinate with vendors and partners, including reviewing and tracking their deliverables.
- Lead on-site coordination between the customer, field partner, and offshore project teams.
- Drive cross-functional teams to meet delivery milestones and business objectives.
- Track progress against the baseline plan and escalate risks or issues that may affect customer commitments.
- Handle change requests, planned events, and ensure adherence to the project change-management process.
- Ensure required documentation is in place by milestone dates and support loading artifacts into customer systems as per process.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project plans.
- Monitor project performance and quality to ensure agreed deliverables are achieved.
- Conduct regular status, stakeholder, stage review, and closure meetings.
- Take overall responsibility for successful end-to-end project delivery.
Knowledge and Experience
The role calls for strong project execution capability, confident communication, customer handling skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to define objectives and deliverables clearly and build practical project plans.
- Experience leading projects to completion within scope, schedule, and cost targets.
- Strong written and verbal communication for instructions, updates, dashboards, negotiations, and issue resolution.
- Capability to manage customer expectations and handle sensitive or difficult situations with professionalism.
- Comfort working with technical, business, and people-related conflict resolution scenarios.
- Fluent English communication, both spoken and written.
- Basic understanding of communication and networking technologies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an unstructured environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with departments, subsidiaries, clients, and project teams.
- Experience interacting directly with customers, project managers, and internal/external organizations.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge to business needs.
- Experience dealing with large business customers.
- Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to absorb information quickly.
- Comfort with multitasking, action-oriented work, and managing high volumes of tasks without missing details.
- Capability to work across project management and data network engineering functions and connect inputs across disciplines.
- Flexible, analytical, resilient under pressure, and able to manage several projects at once.
- Experience working with telecommunications carriers.
Work Environment
This is a full-time onsite role based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
