Overview
The role involves supporting U.S. Government operations at Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE by offering expert cultural advice and language services to enhance coordination between U.S. military teams and Host Nation officials. Candidates must demonstrate deep knowledge of UAE culture and fluency in Arabic and English, along with the capacity to function effectively in a military setting.
Key Duties
- Provide guidance to U.S. military command on UAE societal customs, traditions, etiquette, and official protocols.
- Establish and nurture working relationships with Host Nation military and governmental representatives.
- Translate, interpret, and transcribe between Arabic and English languages.
- Conduct cultural awareness sessions to prepare U.S. personnel for various operations.
- Assist multiple sectors including immigration, customs, contracting, engineering, logistics, medical, public affairs, and operations.
- Support official engagements such as meetings, negotiations, leadership dialogues, public functions, and site inspections.
- Compile precise weekly and monthly reports as required by U.S. Government authorities.
- Contribute to critical mission tasks and respond to emergency operational demands when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere strictly to U.S. Government and military guidelines.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Hold an active SECRET Security Clearance
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport and Driver's License
- Have an International Driver's Permit
- Be capable of securing necessary visas and permissions for Host Nation access
- Demonstrate Arabic-English language skills at ILR Level 3 or equivalent
- Display profound understanding of UAE culture, customs, and social practices
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working in USCENTCOM operational settings
