Position Overview

We are looking for an energetic and innovative full-time Core Faculty member to join our nursing department. The position includes teaching responsibilities in the Master of Science in Nursing program, specifically focusing on Family Nurse Practitioner specialty courses, Psychiatric Mental Health specialty courses, and Doctor of Nursing Practice curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction using online platforms, providing thoughtful and timely feedback to students.
• Create an interactive, challenging online learning environment grounded in evidence-based practices.
• Utilize assessment data to refine teaching approaches and participate in quality improvement to meet institutional aims.
• Adhere strictly to faculty expectations outlined by the University and maintain appropriate standards for graduate-level work.
• Teach three to four courses or sections per trimester, including supervision of scholarly projects and practicum experiences.
• Participate in residencies as assigned, which may involve travel.
• Develop and implement a scholarship and faculty development plan aligned with accreditation and University criteria.
• Maintain clinical currency and engage in professional growth, including disseminating scholarly work through research, presentations, or written contributions.
• Serve on academic and University committees, act as liaison to community and professional organizations, and engage actively in professional associations.
• Undertake administrative roles such as course coordination, student advising, and performance evaluation.
• Promote academic professionalism in and outside classroom settings in alignment with the University’s values and ethical standards.

Licensing and Certifications

Faculty members must have an earned degree from an accredited institution and hold an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse credentials as applicable. Licenses must be maintained and extended as necessary for teaching requirements. Maintaining nursing practice currency through ongoing education and scholarship is expected.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Terminal degree in nursing (PhD or DNP).
• Active RN license in the home state and eligibility for licensure nationwide.
• Current national certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in home state and states of student residence if required.
• Demonstrated intellectual and professional contributions in nursing including teaching experience, particularly preferred at doctoral level.
• Experience teaching advanced practice nursing, especially in PMHNP roles, if assigned those courses.
• Familiarity with distance learning is preferred.

Work Environment and Other Details

Work is primarily office-based involving computer use for 6 to 8 hours daily, with some physical activity such as walking and standing. Occasional moderate noise may be present. Some travel may be necessary for residencies, faculty meetings, or immersion events.

• Assistant Professor: $68,722 - $115,400
• Associate Professor: $79,030 - $132,710
• Professor: $88,923 - $152,617
