Coordinator: Transport (Durban)

Role Overview

MacDonald’s Transport & Warehousing is hiring a Transport Coordinator for its Durban branch. The role suits someone who is highly organised, service-oriented, and comfortable working closely with customers, branches, and operational teams to keep transport activity running smoothly.

The position focuses on coordinating loading and offloading, supporting operational planning, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring clear communication across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage loading and unloading operations so turnaround targets are met.
• Keep in regular contact with the operational teams in Upington and Johannesburg.
• Plan loading and offloading timetables, along with vehicle allocation.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, suppliers, and offloading points.
• Spot and follow through on potential new business opportunities.
• Assist managers, drivers, and operations staff with daily operational needs.
• Deliver efficient customer service and support smooth operational execution.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12.
• Between 3 and 5 years of experience in the long-distance transport sector.
• A logistics-related qualification will be considered an advantage.
• Strong communication and organisational ability.
• Working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Computer literacy.
• Understanding of working time legislation.
• Valid driver's licence.
