Job Overview
This role is based at a restaurant setting in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada and requires the candidate to work onsite with no remote work option. Applicants must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and possess between 1 to 2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in English is necessary for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop menus and accurately estimate food quantities needed for preparation.
- Order food and kitchen supplies appropriately to meet kitchen demands.
- Fully prepare and cook meals or individual dishes to high standards.
- Make special meals as per instructions from a dietitian or head chef.
- Regularly inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and proper handling.
- Handle ordering of necessary kitchen supplies and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Supervise kitchen employees and helpers to maintain efficiency and teamwork.
- Keep accurate inventory and maintain records related to food, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and workspaces consistently.
- Participate in recruiting and hiring new kitchen staff members.
