Contract Manager

Position Overview

The Contract Manager will oversee infrastructure-related agreements end to end, making sure contractual duties are met by all parties. The role includes identifying and pursuing claims where warranty issues or non-compliance arise. The main focus is on maintenance agreements tied to systems, facilities, civils, and track assets, with commercial and legal matters handled in coordination with General Legal Counsel when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of infrastructure contract administration across the portfolio.
• Confirm that the obligations in each agreement are clearly understood and properly delivered by every party involved.
• Manage maintenance service agreements linked to infrastructure assets.
• Protect the company’s commercial position throughout the life of each contract.
• Ensure suppliers meet their contractual commitments.
• Identify commercial opportunities while controlling contractual and business risks.
• Prepare formal correspondence, including letters and notices.
• Work to maximise value from every agreement.
• Collaborate closely with other departments and functions whenever support is required.
• Prepare detailed reports at the timing and format requested by the line manager.
• Maintain responsibility for personal safety and contribute to the safety of others.

Qualifications and Experience

A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a related field such as legal or commercial studies is preferred. Railway operations and maintenance exposure would be an added advantage. The role also requires a full driving licence.

Applicants should bring substantial contract management experience, along with a commercially aware mindset and solid familiarity with legal terminology. Knowledge of maintenance agreements and service level agreements is important, as is comfort with railway and engineering language. Experience working in multi-disciplinary and multinational environments, plus the ability to perform well under pressure, is expected.
