Description de l'emploi
About the Company
Turquoise Health is working to rebuild confidence in U.S. healthcare by making the financial side of the system easier to understand. The company focuses on reducing complexity for providers, payers, and patients, and helps organizations navigate price transparency in healthcare. It is a Series C company backed by investors including a16z, Oak HC/FT, Adams Street, Yosemite, Bessemer Venture Partners, and others.
About the Role
Turquoise is hiring a creative storyteller and rising content creator who can turn complicated, technical topics into content that is engaging and easy for a general audience to follow. The role is centered on producing short-form documentary-style content that explains subjects such as hospital pricing, Explanation of Benefits documents, and insurance contracts. You will collaborate closely with the CEO and marketing team to create video, audio/podcast, social, and other multimedia assets that strengthen the brand and educate the market.
This is an in-person role based in San Diego, CA, and it reports to the VP of Marketing with a dotted-line relationship to the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Translate dense healthcare and financial concepts into clear, interesting multimedia stories that are accessible to non-experts.
- Handle the full production process, including planning shoots, setting up cameras and lighting, capturing clean audio, directing participants, and ensuring footage is ready for editing.
- Help CEOs, customers, and internal teammates feel comfortable on camera and guide them through the recording process.
- Edit content for clarity and retention by building strong openings, tightening story flow, improving pacing, adding captions, selecting music, and incorporating graphics or motion elements.
- Repurpose content across multiple formats and platforms so it performs well in different channels.
- Look for story opportunities across marketing, brand, product, sales, customer success, and leadership.
- Contribute fresh creative concepts, suggest new formats, identify short-form clips, and support experimentation across social and video.
- Use AI and other creative tools to speed up scripting, editing, motion, visual production, and content workflows.
- Manage several projects at once while staying organized, communicating clearly, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
Requirements
- Strong ability to simplify complex subjects and make them understandable to a broad audience.
- A natural explainer who balances storytelling judgment with hands-on technical ability in multimedia production.
- Comfort working both behind the camera and on camera, with the ability to shoot, edit, and publish content independently.
- Experience creating content for yourself or others is considered valuable.
- Based in San Diego or willing to relocate there, since the role requires working onsite with the founder/CEO.
- Interest in or familiarity with sketch comedy, improv, or education is a plus.
- You do not need to be a healthcare specialist; the company will provide support to get you up to speed.
- Applicants must be based in the United States and available to work U.S. business hours.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit a 2–3 minute video explaining a complex financial topic to a general audience. The video may feature the candidate directly or use voiceover. Submissions should be clear, compelling, and worth watching. Entirely AI-generated videos will be deprioritized because the team wants to evaluate the candidate’s thinking and communication style.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation plus equity opportunities.
- Medical, dental, and vision plan options, along with FSA, DCFSA, and HSA options.
- Company-paid disability and life insurance.
- Unlimited paid time off.
- 401(k) retirement plan with 4% company match.
- Work-from-home setup allowance of $750.
- Paid twice-yearly in-person company summits.
- Quarterly $150 stipend for coworker meetups.
- Monthly $100 wellness benefit.
- Paid family leave.
- Annual learning and development stipend of $1,200.
