Description de l'emploi

Role overview

Don’t Panic is hiring a creative, highly organised Content Marketing Specialist to strengthen its marketing function. The business is a leading B2B and industry awards organiser, delivering more than 20 awards each year across global markets. It is a people-focused agency that values ambition and fresh thinking, with opportunities to contribute to a lively and fast-moving team.

What the role involves

In this position, you will help generate traffic, engagement, leads, and brand visibility through well-crafted content delivered across digital channels. Working with the Head of Marketing, the Creative Team, and wider colleagues, you will produce content that supports event launches, entry drives, ticket sales, community activity, and customer retention.

You will create and distribute material across email, social media, websites, and other channels, making sure it stays aligned with brand standards and business goals. The role calls for strong writing ability, sound experience in content marketing, and a data-led approach to improving results over time.

A key part of the role is taking a publisher-style approach: identifying the content audiences want, using CRM and AI tools where appropriate, choosing the right channels, and continually refining performance to support wider commercial objectives.

Working pattern and package

This is a hybrid role based in Rawtenstall, with two days per week required in the office. The working week is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, with flexible working arrangements and core hours from 9:00am to 2:00pm. The salary is £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience. Benefits include a competitive holiday allowance and enhanced parental leave.

Please note that the office is not easily reached by public transport, so a car may be necessary unless you live nearby.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a degree, or equivalent experience, in Marketing, English, Creative Writing, or a related discipline, along with 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar content marketing position. You should also bring 2 to 3 years of experience using current digital marketing methods and best practices.

Strong copywriting and creative writing skills are essential, along with experience managing digital content hubs, social channels, and email. You should understand audience segmentation, data handling, and CRM good practice, and be comfortable creating content for different platforms, audience groups, and customer journey stages.

The role also requires experience planning and maintaining annual content calendars across multiple campaigns and projects, plus the ability to use AI tools responsibly to support content creation, efficiency, process improvement, and marketing innovation while upholding quality and brand standards.

You should be able to measure campaign performance, create regular reports, and use findings to improve future activity. Other important qualities include strong ideas generation, excellent communication, precision with punctuation, spelling and grammar, the ability to write in different tones and formats, and strong organisation and time management.

You must be capable of working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, handling several projects at once, working independently when needed, and being effective in a remote setting. Occasional travel, including nationally or internationally, may be required for event coverage and video interviews with stakeholders. You should also be able to work well with internal teams and external partners, brief creative colleagues effectively, maintain professional relationships, and communicate in a reliable and courteous manner.

Additional skills and desirable experience

Helpful experience includes knowledge of search, SEO, and content optimisation; using WordPress or a similar CMS; working with CRM tools such as HubSpot for email marketing and audience segmentation; and applying AI tools to research, content workflows, campaign planning, and process improvement. Experience in an agency or other fast-paced marketing environment is also desirable, as is familiarity with Canva or Adobe tools.

Other information

The role requires strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, AI tools, and social media management tools.
