About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager dedicated to overseeing and leading construction projects from start to finish. This role involves managing both strategic and operational facets to ensure projects are completed punctually, within budget, and uphold the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and apply a strategic manpower plan that anticipates labor demands per project phase, ensuring effective staffing and resource distribution.
- Define the construction team structure aligning roles and expertise with project requirements for all stages.
- Enhance team productivity by developing methods to boost efficiency, monitor performance, and identify training needs.
- Establish long-range project objectives aligning with the organization's vision and goals.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to finances, safety, and scheduling to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, environmental laws, and integrate sustainable practices when applicable.
- Engage with senior leadership to review and adjust project strategies, budgets, and allocations based on client and market dynamics.
- Lead day-to-day project execution, guaranteeing delivery as per scope, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare and monitor detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, and resource plans, adapting when needed.
- Oversee procurement and logistics to secure timely material, equipment, and subcontractor availability without disrupting schedules.
- Maintain quality control by supervising work compliance with design, codes, and client expectations.
- Manage client communications, providing progress updates and handling concerns effectively.
- Supervise on-site daily operations ensuring smooth collaboration among all parties involved.
- Introduce operational improvements to streamline workflows and reduce inefficiencies.
- Enforce safety protocols on-site to protect personnel and comply with regulations.
- Resolve operational challenges like labor or material shortages promptly to maintain project flow.
- Monitor and control project costs, adjusting strategies to meet financial targets.
- Track team performance and promote improvements through data-driven feedback.
- Develop and deliver ongoing training programs to enhance skills and certifications.
- Ensure all team members and subcontractors are aligned with project goals, safety standards, and client requirements.
Collaboration
This position interacts internally with the Projects Manager, construction teams, technical and design personnel, IT, HR, CEO office, Finance, and Procurement departments. Externally, it engages with consultants and suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management focusing on project management and operational oversight.
- Thorough understanding of construction processes, building codes, safety standards, and quality regulations.
