Role Overview
The Compliance Officer position is crucial in guaranteeing that Gallagher Security’s products, processes, and systems comply with pertinent quality and regulatory standards across domestic and international markets. As part of the High Security & Assurance Value Stream, responsibilities include creating robust compliance frameworks, evaluating products against dynamic legal requirements, and communicating necessary remediation measures to sustain world-class compliant solutions.
This role is highly influential and interconnected, collaborating closely with development teams, global stakeholders, Group Compliance and Legal departments, certification authorities, and customers to integrate compliance seamlessly into products from inception. Tasks encompass overseeing external testing logistics, interpreting intricate regulations into practical guidelines, and ensuring compliance is foundational rather than supplementary.
Key Accountabilities
- Stay informed on product-related regulatory changes across national and international markets, analyzing risks and impacts on business operations.
- Manage and update Gallagher Security’s compliance register, briefing internal stakeholders on upcoming requirements and related decisions.
- Conduct in-depth research on compliance updates, emerging trends, and novel requirements affecting new products and technologies.
- Organize testing activities with external labs, including hardware preparation, configuration, documentation management, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
- Develop and sustain relationships with accreditation, certification, regulatory bodies, and pivotal testing laboratories worldwide.
- Convert regulatory standards into comprehensible, actionable requirements to guide development and product teams toward compliant designs.
- Offer expert technical guidance to regional sales teams enabling them to address customer compliance queries proficiently.
- Lead interdepartmental forums to maintain transparency around significant compliance risks impacting Gallagher Security’s business.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a technically proficient problem-solver who excels at simplifying complex regulatory landscapes. They demonstrate strong interpretative skills to clarify standards, address ambiguities, and steer teams toward feasible compliant solutions. Collaboration, curiosity, and confident stakeholder engagement are essential traits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable compliance role, preferably within the electronic security sector.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical and/or Electronics disciplines are advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of national and international regulatory schemes such as RCM, CE, FCC, and UL.
- Capability to interpret standards, assist in or perform technical testing, and simplify compliance requirements.
- Familiarity or experience with Security industry systems, including PLCs, mechatronics, electronics, software, or cyber security is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for educating and influencing stakeholders.
- Experience with Gallagher Security products, including hardware installation, is preferred.
- Comfort with AI tools and proficient English communication skills.
