Role overview
This Compensation Analyst position supports the development and rollout of compensation strategies, practices, and processes across multiple regions. The role is part of the Compensation Operations and Excellence team and focuses on turning data into useful insights, creating scalable reporting tools, and providing analytics support for compensation programs.
The position combines compensation knowledge with strong technical and analytical ability to improve decision-making, make data easier to access, and increase the efficiency of compensation operations.
Work location and flexibility
This position may be based in Chicago, New York City, Sunnyvale, or San Francisco. The arrangement is hybrid, meaning work is split between home and a company office on selected days based on team and business needs.
Key responsibilities
- Examine large and complex datasets to surface insights that inform compensation decisions.
- Develop and support scalable dashboards, data models, and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Build and maintain reliable datasets with strong governance so teams can use a trusted source of truth.
- Streamline processes through automation and support self-service analytics for stakeholders.
- Perform compensation analysis and modeling to assist with program design and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and at least 2 years of experience in compensation analytics or people analytics.
Preferred background
- Strong quantitative and analytical ability with the skill to translate complex data into clear business conclusions.
- Advanced Excel expertise, including formulas, pivot tables, and macros/VBA.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying and handling large datasets.
- Experience with data visualization and modeling tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical groups.
- Quick learner with strong technical comfort in new tools and systems.
- Working familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Compensation and benefits
The annual pay range for this role is $71,000 to $115,000. Final pay is determined by factors such as skills, depth of experience, certifications, and work location, and it may vary in other locations because labor costs differ.
The total compensation package may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other incentive compensation plans.
