About the Role
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) seeks a Community Engagement Specialist for a 12-month freelance contract. DCT Abu Dhabi is dedicated to fostering sustainable advancement of culture, tourism, and creative sectors, positioning Abu Dhabi as a worldwide cultural and tourism center. This role operates within the Community Engagement unit, responsible for managing daily activities that sustain community involvement, connectivity, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute recurring community programs entirely—from scheduling and logistics to on-site management.
- Coordinate with venues, speakers, mentors, vendors, and partners while monitoring costs within the set budget.
- Oversee the annual community activities calendar and support its implementation throughout the year.
- Manage the community's digital presence including online platforms, social media channels, and newsletters, ensuring up-to-date content.
- Create communications such as announcements, event summaries, and creator content collaborations.
- Assist in organizing B2B and B2C events with operational coordination and on-site support.
- Maintain community databases including member profiles, participation records, and engagement metrics.
- Track attendance, engagement levels, and satisfaction to support Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting for the unit.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in organizing community events from conception to execution.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills capable of managing various stakeholders simultaneously.
- Ability to engage and inform community members effectively across multiple platforms.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with community platform management, social media content calendars, supporting large-scale events, and basic data/reporting skills.
- Knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage.
