Description de l'emploi
Role Overview
The Community Adviser will offer detailed information, guidance, and practical assistance on issues related to social welfare law. This includes maintaining thorough and precise records of client support interactions. The role encompasses support and leadership for outreach volunteers, along with participation in community events and occasional advice sessions, some of which may occur outside regular office hours, including Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and clear advice on all matters of social welfare law.
- Maintain detailed documentation of client communications and services provided.
- Assist and guide outreach volunteers in their community engagement efforts.
- Attend various community events and special information sessions as required, including some after-hours and weekend commitments.
Candidate Profile
We seek individuals with a strong commitment to serving vulnerable populations effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to empathetically interact with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those who may be distressed or vulnerable.
Applicants must exhibit strong teamwork skills, be self-driven, and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management abilities to thrive in a dynamic office setting.
A thorough understanding of complex written and verbal information, solid numeracy competency, and proficient verbal and written communication skills are essential to collaborate successfully with clients, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
- A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is mandatory; however, a criminal record will not automatically disqualify candidates, as each case will be evaluated individually.
- Applicants must have a valid driving license and access to a vehicle, given the need to travel across the borough at short notice.
