Commis I - Arabic Cuisine

Role overview

In this kitchen role, you will support day-to-day culinary operations and help ensure every dish is prepared, plated, and served in line with the hotel’s established methods and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the kitchen team in delivering food preparation and service according to set cooking techniques and plating standards.
• Support smooth kitchen workflow while maintaining consistency with hotel standards.

Experience and technical knowledge

• Prior work as a Commis I, or in a comparable culinary position, within a luxury hotel, resort, or premium restaurant is preferred, with Arabic cuisine experience seen as an advantage.
• Good understanding of both classic and modern Arabic cooking methods, ingredients, and presentation style.
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and HACCP requirements.

Working style and capabilities

• Strong planning and time-management skills, with the ability to keep the workstation orderly and efficient.
• Comfortable working in a busy kitchen while upholding hygiene and food-quality standards.
• Able to handle several tasks at once, prioritize effectively, and remain composed under pressure.
• Team-focused, with clear communication skills and a genuine willingness to learn and grow professionally.
