Job Overview
This position involves preparing culinary ingredients and dishes following strict standards to ensure quality and presentation. You will be responsible for food preparation tasks such as portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, mixing, as well as cooking food using various kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Maintaining food quality and safety standards throughout preparation is crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients including chopping, portioning, washing, and peeling fruits and vegetables.
- Measure and mix components accurately according to recipes and culinary guidelines.
- Cook and prepare hot and cold food items, consistently achieving quality and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen appliances safely and effectively such as ovens, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Monitor food temperature and test doneness to ensure proper cooking.
- Set up and dismantle workstations efficiently during shifts.
- Serve food in appropriate portions using suitable containers.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen spaces, utensils, tools, and equipment regularly.
- Maintain correct appliance and food temperatures for safety compliance.
- Adhere to company safety, security protocols, and hygiene guidelines, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
- Keep personal appearance professional and uniform clean.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, fostering positive work relationships to meet shared goals.
- Comply with quality control measures and support supervisors with other reasonable duties.
- Physical demands include standing, sitting, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, twisting, and stooping throughout shift.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- At least one year of relevant experience in a food preparation or culinary role is preferred.
- No supervisory experience necessary.
- No licenses or certifications required.
