Role Overview

As a Registered Clinical Psychologist based at the Lower Hutt clinic, you will provide vital psychological support to clients across various life stages, aiding those recovering from injury and individuals dealing with persistent pain. Working within a medium-sized multidisciplinary allied health team located near Queensgate Mall, you will contribute to multiple contracts including Pain Management, Training for Independence, Integrated Care Pathway, and Psychology Services. This full-time role typically operates Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours available.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and apply sound clinical reasoning.
• Prepare clear verbal and written reports that articulate treatment objectives and justifications.
• Deliver effective psychological interventions suited to client needs.
• Engage collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Ensure timely completion of all clinical records and reports for referrers.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology (Masters or Doctorate) and registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
• A current Annual Practising Certificate, professional membership, and indemnity insurance.
• Preferred but not mandatory: minimum two years’ experience, particularly with ACC contracts.
• Interest or experience in pain management and rehabilitation.
• Strong written and verbal communication coupled with excellent teamwork skills.
• Effective time management and the ability to produce detailed documentation.
• Commitment to professional ethics, diversity, and a respectful, values-driven approach.
• Capability to independently manage a caseload with a desire for continued learning supported by orientation and ongoing development.
