Role Overview
The Clinical Informatics Specialist plays a key role in enhancing clinical documentation systems by coordinating and facilitating workflow improvements. This position involves providing clinical support and training to physicians, end users, and clinical leaders, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues with clarity. Collaboration with the MIS Department analysts is essential to implement necessary changes in clinical applications.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License or Temporary Practice Permit.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a related healthcare field, or you should obtain this degree within six years from the start date.
- At least two years of recent experience in an acute care environment or clinical informatics, with preferred background in medical/surgical or critical care.
- Certification in clinical or nursing informatics is preferred, or required to be completed within six years of employment.
- Proficiency in PCS, spreadsheets, databases, and clinical documentation systems is mandatory.
- Knowledge of powerplan design, functionality, and its impact across hospital departments is advantageous.
