Chief Information Security Officer

About the role

RUNX is hiring a Chief Information Security Officer for its digital banking business in Singapore. The organization is a licensed digital bank and fintech scale-up working at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets, with backing from major institutional investors. It already has a team of more than 150 professionals and a dedicated security group of 10 specialists, and is now seeking a senior security leader to shape the next stage of its global security program.

This position reports directly to the CEO and carries enterprise-level ownership of security across a platform that combines fiat and crypto settlement. The role extends beyond routine protection work and requires leadership across cloud-native banking systems, real-time payment flows, stablecoin infrastructure, and regulatory engagement with senior stakeholders and global authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Create and lead a broad cybersecurity strategy that supports rapid business expansion while keeping risk within the firm’s accepted limits.
• Ensure alignment with international financial regulations and security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI-DSS.
• Manage vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and a round-the-clock incident response capability for an always-on banking environment.
• Act as the main connection between technical security work and executive decision-makers, helping build a strong cybersecurity culture across the company.
• Represent security matters to the Board, senior leadership, and regulators as the primary authority on enterprise security.

Candidate profile

The company is looking for an executive-level professional who brings both strong technical depth and the confidence to operate in the boardroom.

• 10 to 15+ years of strategic cybersecurity experience in financial services, fintech, or digital asset businesses.
• Prior success in a CISO or senior leadership role, especially in fast-scaling or newly built digital finance environments.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture design and enterprise risk management frameworks.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in MIS, fintech, computer science, or a closely related technical discipline.
• CISM certification is required.
• Preferred additional certifications include blockchain security, data privacy, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.
