Job Overview
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for managing the daily accounting functions, reporting, and compliance measures. This role supports the Financial Controller in implementing the hotel's financial strategies in alignment with policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including staff supervision, controls, mentoring, and promoting efficient teamwork.
- Verify daily bank balances by reviewing credit card reconciliations for approval by the Director of Finance.
- Ensure the accuracy of the General Cashier report and confirm daily revenue deposits into the bank.
- Conduct month-end reconciliation of all general ledger accounts before producing monthly financial statements and report discrepancies to the Director of Finance.
- Review monthly reports such as Food & Beverage and Cost Controller reports in compliance with company policy.
- Ensure timely payment and filing of all taxes, resolving any variances promptly.
- Prepare various monthly reports requested by management.
- Assist the Financial Controller with accounting policy reviews, budgeting, financial analysis, and perform ad hoc assignments as needed.
- Maintain proper filing of accounting documents, including contracts, ensuring easy retrieval.
- Stay informed on new regulations and Accor policies and incorporate updates accordingly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- At least four years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant hotel finance and non-finance software.
