CCTV Technician

Position Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and skilled CCTV Technician to handle installation, servicing, and repair of CCTV and related security systems for a range of clients including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The role demands practical knowledge with CCTV hardware, networking, software, and troubleshooting techniques.

Key Duties

• Install and configure CCTV equipment such as cameras, monitors, DVR/NVR units, and associated components.
• Carry out regular system inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance.
• Identify and fix faults or replace malfunctioning equipment when necessary.
• Set up wireless and IP CCTV systems, including configuring network settings.
• Work with clients to assess system needs and advise on optimal device placement.
• Maintain detailed records of work done, parts used, and system layouts.
• Follow safety standards and company policies strictly during all tasks.
• Provide guidance and training to users on operating the security systems.
• Keep abreast of new security technologies and industry practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, IT, or similar fields is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in CCTV installation and maintenance roles.
• Sound understanding of IP networking, CAT5/6 cabling, and video surveillance technologies.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics and manuals effectively.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities coupled with good communication skills.
• Comfortable with working at heights and in restricted spaces as needed.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license for site visits.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Certifications related to security systems such as Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, or Milestone.
• Basic knowledge of access control systems, alarms, or intercoms.
• Experience with remote monitoring tools and mobile application integration.

Work Environment

• On-field assignments across diverse locations including homes, business premises, and industrial sites.
• Physical activities including lifting equipment and outdoor work in different conditions.
• Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends based on client requirements.
