Position Overview
Cashiers hold a vital role in customer service, delivering prompt, friendly, precise, and secure service to shoppers. Their duties include managing Checkout and Return transactions and overseeing the Self-Checkout area. They actively acquire knowledge about products and projects to inform customers and identify sales opportunities. Adherence to policies and procedures is essential to reduce inventory shrinkage.
Head Cashier Responsibilities
In addition to cashier duties, Head Cashiers coordinate the positioning of Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental departments. They serve as the initial escalation point for customer concerns and assist with supervising, coaching, and training other Front End Associates. Their role includes participating in the training of new Cashiers and employing all available resources to mentor and develop the team.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 1 year experience working as a Cashier is preferred for the Head Cashier role.
