Role Overview
Cashiers hold a vital role in delivering prompt, courteous, precise, and secure customer service. They handle checkout and return transactions and manage the self-checkout areas, ensuring smooth operational flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer purchases and returns accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee and maintain the self-checkout stations to ensure optimal functionality.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of products and projects to inform customers and identify opportunities for additional sales.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage and losses.
- For Head Cashiers: position and support Cashiers by expediting price verifications, and approving various transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, self-checkout, returns, pro desk, special services, and tool rental.
- Resolve initial customer issues and provide frontline escalations.
- Assist in supervising, coaching, and training front-end associates, including onboarding new Cashiers and employing all available resources to develop staff skills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred experience includes at least one year working as a Cashier.
