Join a respected Australian not-for-profit with over 125 years' experience in disability and rehabilitation services. At Breakthru, a division of Royal Rehab Group, you will engage directly within the community, working closely with clients to empower them towards meaningful employment.
Role Overview
As a Career Coach, you will contribute to the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) initiative, supporting people with disabilities, injuries, or health conditions across NSW and Queensland. Your role involves guiding participants to identify career aspirations, building confidence, and facilitating access to sustainable job opportunities. Work locations primarily include Tuggerah, with occasional assignments at The Entrance and Gosford.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop career opportunities, aligning client strengths to appropriate and durable employment roles.
- Advocate for inclusive hiring and workplace diversity, focusing on individuals with disability or health challenges.
- Collaborate with employers to address workforce skill shortages through role tailoring and inclusive recruitment methods.
- Arrange work experience placements to enhance participant skills and evaluate compatibility between employers and clients.
- Prepare workplaces via necessary adjustments and provide disability confidence training to support participant retention.
- Deliver employer training sessions to increase disability awareness and foster inclusive practices.
- Expand networks within employer and community groups to generate employment opportunities.
- Represent Breakthru as a trusted partner in helping people with disabilities achieve career success.
- Consistently achieve or exceed performance targets and standards.
- Embody Breakthru’s values emphasizing inclusion, empowerment, and person-centered practices.
Candidate Profile
You bring energetic empathy and a strong commitment to making a positive impact. Whether experienced in employment services or motivated by passion for this work, you excel at supporting individuals to navigate their career paths. Your skills include relationship building with clients and employers, training delivery, and detailed record management in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Qualifications in Employment Services or Human Services are preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workloads effectively and meet key performance indicators.
- Comprehensive understanding of employment barriers faced by people with disabilities or health conditions.
- Expertise in tailoring support and crafting client-focused employment plans.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- A valid Driver's License is essential.
